HasherTool.

How to use:

Simply input the plaintext you would like to hash into the top box and an output will appear in the box below; it contains the hash value made with a bit length the same as the number in the algorithm name, e.g. SHA-256 produces a hash with a bit-length of 256.

The hash produced here is in the form of hexadecimal. Another way to find the bit-length of the hash is by going from hexadecimals to bits. The conversions are as follows:

1 hexadecimal character = 4 bits

1 base64 character = 6 bits

1 text character = 8 bits

MD5

Information

The MD5 message-digest algorithm is a widely used hash function producing a 128-bit hash value. Although MD5 was initially designed to be used as a cryptographic hash function, it has been found to suffer from extensive vulnerabilities.

It is not recommended to use this function to secure passwords, due to the fast nature of this hashing algorithm.
